Day 4- We pack a picnic and head up over the Sawtooth Mountains. My family is very tolerant to my roadside stops as I photograph God's Country. Never before have I experienced air so fresh and country so wild. My only regret is not seeing the famous wolves of the area.

Seriously folks! No stopping means no stopping. Tough on this photographer. I missed many a photo because of those silly avalanches.

Hot waterfalls empty into frigid rivers making for nice warm little pools.

Galena Summit: You used to be able to rent a log to attach to the back of your vehicle when conditions were icey. Slowed your decent supposedly. I had all sorts ideas about how my log would find a way to pass me on the way down. EEk

A Fixer Upper with complete with Potty. You think I am kidding? My kids will know where to find me, I just need to get Jim to see the investment opportunity.

Sadly no wolves in Stanley...no people either.

Why we drive slow in Idaho:

Sleeping Barn

Incredible area called Kirkham.

My first photo of the day: Sunrise on the 45th parallel.
