Christmas Eve:

The kids put on a very entertaining program. Really the best yet (except for maybe the part where Austin spiked baby Jesus).

The rest of our evening was spent piled onto one bed in our new jammies and watching the Christmas Story. That is definitely one of my favorite movies!
Our Christmas day was spent enjoying each other and venturing out into the wonderful storm that came through. (There are alot of wet clothes in the laundry area.)

Andre...I mean Andrew has found his sport. After dabbling in golf and basketball he has found a game he is excited about.

The thing about Pony Club is- no matter what you plan for this group of kids, whether it is making pizzas or going on a scavenger hunt they will come up with a game of their own. It will always have a physical component and carry with it the likelihood that you will pee your pants from laughing too hard.

Ashley and her buddy Vanessa spent last Sunday at a USEA clinic. The clinician was Sara Kozumplik-Dierks. Retto was a little ouchy so Phanny was pulled out of retirement. She was such a good pony that Sara had Ashley and Phanny leading the spooky horses over the scarey stuff.

A Tree for Nana.

As is our family tradition the kids were burying Andrew in the Christmas trees when Scrooge himself came out of nowhere and said no pictures in the store. Of course I had to express my disbelief at the lack of brain cells used in that transaction but still it sort of ruined the mood. We dug Andy out of the trees, located a tree for Nana and went on our merry way. A covert attempt to find and photograph the perfect tree will happen later in the week under the cover of darkness. Duh Duh Dunnn!

Up, Up and Away...
Doug and Kim came down for the weekend. We spent some time at the airport learning about their plane. The highlight would have to be standing out on the tarmac as they were taking off. We were jumping around and waving and Doug dipped the wings and waved back. Fun stuff!

Congratulations Ashley!!!!!
All the hard work is paying off. Ash and Retto won the training division at the Ocala Horse Trials. Ashley's first victory gallop was one where she was in the lead. How cool is that?

Ashley tutoring Andrew in science. When the only kid in the class is the class clown and Ash is teacher it can get pretty interesting.

I knew you were all ready for more pony photos. These are of Ashley and Retto on the weekend working with Ralph. They are preparing for the Ocala horse trials. Sort of a Grand Finale for 2006. Good luck you two.

After a much needed rain everything seems so fresh and new. Magnolias are the perfect Florida tree. Even with winter around the corner the Magnolia gives you the feeling of spring.

Tryouts are over and guess who made the varsity team? (not to mention a 4.0 GPA as well!)

A glimpse of the kids.

Ashley missed several days of school due to the flu so Austin was helping her catch up in in her algebra class. She enjoys his tutoring because he adds strange voices and dance moves. Who knew math could be this FUN?

The haunted porch was especially spooky this year. Job well done by team- Andrew, Alex and Ashley. We had a bigger than usual turn out for the candy swapping which was nice too. Now on to the next event: Our re-enactment of the first Thanksgiving and our re-enactment of our Annual Mullen Whooping Football Game. Both great fun only I have heard the Mullen camp is recruiting this year. We had best be on our toes.
