Our Sunday:

It was fun! Basketball season comes to a close. Austin started playing when he was 12 and by his senior year was arguably one of the best players at a 6A school. His coaches complimented him with a 'hustle award' and proudlly spoke of his reputation in the county of "Foul me and you will be fouled." As parents we said "Hmmm?" But the coaches seemed quite proud of it. One coach said he was the strongest kid he ever coached and that was all that mattered to Austin. Anyway another milestone in our lives. Austin is off and running to the next endeavor and I shall learn from his example.

Practicing bridal portraits with these ladies was very interesting to say the least. Let's just say they were more relaxed than most bridal parties.

A HUGE UPSET!!!!
The Lake Mary Rams beat their rivals Lake Brantley 63 to 58. Brantley had recently won the regional holiday tournament. I am excited about these photos of Austin, as well as the photos of many of the other players, because I think they show the intensity of the game. The first photo was of Austin's emotion after hitting a much needed 3 pointer. What I didn't record was the crowd roaring right along with him. Very fun game, for the Rams anyway.

Happy New Year Everyone!

As you notice I have not posted for a while. I feel like the guy that was sucked through the jet engine and survived but feels a little banged up. Christmas snuck up on me and then flew past in a whirlwind. Thank goodness Amy took some photos or I may have felt I dreamed it all. I helped at a 3day tournament for Lake Mary B Ball boys and that was of course great fun. What a neat bunch of kids. The last game against Apopka Austin swished 5 three pointers. Fun stuff to watch. I am starting to be a bit less terrible at my photos in the gym. I am actually happy with several of the shots from the last game. I chatted with a fellow that advised I crank up the ISO to 1000 and shutter speed to 800. I think it stopped the action quite well. I opened my photography storefront and would love some feedback: karenmancusophotography.printroom.com
Check it out.

I followed Adam to the skate park today and watched him fly through the air. He made it look so easy that I was tempted to try...NOT!

Rams take on the Devils from Tennessee. Pretty entertaining game to watch. The kids were so enthusiastic. I think they are all relieved that school is out and just having fun. Anyway they won 94 to 64. Austin had 18.

I saw this little marigold on the porch growing out of the tiny crack between house and foundation. It reminded me of this proverb which is always inspiring in its simplicity:

Bloom where you are planted.~Proverbs

Sadly my Night Photography Class comes to an end. I now see the beauty that surrounds us in the dark. Amazing how the light plays across the sensor creating works of art on my computer. The easiest photos to take are sometimes the most beautiful:

Our traditional tree hunt at Home Depot where I dodge the employees with my camera while the kids bury Andrew in the trees. Fun stuff, but a bit sappy.
